From infancy I listened to music - from my Dad’s accordion and keyboard playing and my brother practising with his band in the front room, music was always around me. I absorbed all the musical tastes of my 6 older brothers and sisters which was varied to say the least, before choosing what I wanted to listen to myself. I had a tiny battery powered radio that I would listen to in my room long after lights out!!!! Growing up as a teenager in the 70s - this will always be my favourite musical decade, so you can expect this to feature quite often in my playlist!! I never want to be closed off to any other musical era though so you’ll hear 80s, 90s and way beyond on my show. I love nothing more than to discover new bands and artists - who can blow me away just as much as the old ones. I’ll try to make sure it’s a mix of iconic artists from the past, right up to now. I’m always happy to hear what the listeners think, take a request or give a shout out. I love that SPIRE is a community focused radio station and hope to include info, when I get it, about gigs and bands playing in and around Chesterfield. We live in an amazing town and I’m all about being proud to live here.
