Spire Radio is a lifestyle branded online community radio station based in Chesterfield Town Centre. Established in 2015, we’re Chesterfield’s longest-running community radio station. Our station embraces and addresses diversity in content as well as audience, covering all types of music, sport and conversation from Chesterfield, for Chesterfield.
We are run by a team of 30 volunteers from the local area, who we are proud to showcase on air through our website, the TuneIn apps for iPhone, Android and Smart TV and on Alexa and Google Assistant activated Smart Speakers. Our volunteers deliver over 80 hours of live content per week – that’s more than any other radio station in North Derbyshire!
Although aiming mainly at the residents of Chesterfield and North Derbyshire, our stream is accessible across the globe through our website, the TuneIn and other radio directory apps and Amazon Alexa and Hey Google smart speakers.
On average, over 16,000 individuals connect to our stream per month. This means 40,000 people could hear about your business every month!^
We offer a range of packages which can really make an impact on your business and its sales and services. On air, we broadcast advertisements in three ’ad blocks’ per hour, which already feature a variety of local and national businesses. Spire Radio has a recognisable online presence in the local community and is a trusted source of local information.
Our main social media platform is Facebook, with over 9,000 likes on our page. Our posts on average organically reach over 24,000 people per month and engage with over 8,000. During events our post reach and engagements increase by over 200%.
We are also active on Instagram, mainly using Instagram Stories as a modern way to reach our listeners away from the studio.

On air, we broadcast over 80 hours of live and local content per week including shows with a range of genres: from country to chart, 80s to rock. This is more than any other radio station in Chesterfield.
We know our listeners want a station built around their community, trusting us to provide them with accurate & reliable local content. Through our advertising, we issue business recommendations to our listeners along with high-quality radio programming incorporating their favourite music.
We are Chesterfield’s longest running community radio station and provide more live, local presented hours per week than any other broadcaster in North Derbyshire.
We reflect our local area in our output as much as we can, with a new show called Chesterfield Chat starting soon. This will be a show presented by a range of our volunteers featuring community announcements, interviews with local community groups and businesses, and a range of other local content.
Since 2017, we have been proud to be a Chesterfield Champion, working alongside Destination Chesterfield to showcase the town, it’s events and people.
Our volunteers are from all walks of life, anyone with any amount of experience or confidence can join our team. We provide training to all new and existing volunteers tailored to their individual needs

*contractually, adverts are played bi-hourly however almost all of the time, adverts are broadcast hourly. This clause protects us in case of technical issues, which are a rarity. We inform advertisers of any period in which their advert is not played.
